Wayne Peterson is a leather carving artist based in New York.

Leather carving is a technique of engraving patterns on the surface of leather. In the United States, it developed as a way to decorate cowboy saddles, belts, and holsters. Typically, botanical patterns such as flowers and arabesques, and Western-derived designs are often used.

Wayne's work takes these traditional carving techniques as a base, incorporating motifs derived from American traditional tattoos such as skulls, flames, devils, and daggers into leather products. These motifs spread as custom paint and leather item designs against the backdrop of hot rod and biker culture from the 1940s to 70s, linking them to countercultures like punk/hardcore and outlaw movements.

In addition to these old tattoo designs, urban symbols such as comic characters, the Yankees logo, and the NY subway also appear. His humorous and rebellious expressions show the influence of Underground Comix and Kustom Kulture from the 1960s to 70s.

For this collaboration, he created a leather collection featuring iconic motifs popular in tattoo and underground culture, such as the Hooded Mosher, Pink Panther, Ripper, and Playboy logo.
