Taxco de Alarcón, a small town commonly known as Taxco, is widely regarded as the silver capital of the world. Silver mining in Taxco began way back in the pre-Hispanic period, and since an architect started a silver workshop in Taxco in 1929, silversmith became the most known traditional industry of Taxco
There are many different jewelry histories and contexts in the world, such as Hermes in France and Georg Jensen in Northern Europe, but Mexican silver seems to be in a different category. Religious motifs and counterfeits are being mass-produced, and it's not exactly a praiseworthy situation, but the presence of jewelry made by artisans is unmatched.
They are not as serious as Japanese factories, so we have had to go through a lot of detailed discussions and make repeated corrections. Some molds can no longer be made when craftsmen retire due to old age or pass away. I find it fascinating that they are supported by the skills of individuals.
