A collection of works by Ari Marcopoulos, a photographer originally from the Netherlands and based in the United States.
This is one of two photobooks featuring the artist's Polaroids, focusing on California. The pile of mostly unpublished photographs, housed in decorated boxes, had been forgotten in a corner of the studio for a long time, until it was discovered when the artist moved studios in 2018.
The Polaroids taken in the early 1990s, a time when skateboarding culture was at its peak, reflect the artist's characteristic love, consideration, and relaxed rapport with his subjects.
Taking place mainly in San Francisco, Santa Rosa, and Oakland's Max Scharf's Ramp, the event will feature some of the best skaters of this generation, including Julien Stranger, Ethan Fowler, and Bob Burnquist.
